2. Describe Screwtape's four categories of laughter with examples:

c) the joke proper

Also, explain which are best for Screwtape and why.

Homework and Events

Monday, Nov 3 is a field trip to see Religulous at the Angelica film center at 10:45. Please be prepared to take notes as I expect to see some use of the film in your Argumentative Essay.

Tuesday, Nov 4 is Election Day, but we still have class. This will be mostly a writing day. You must submit your Argumentative Essay outline. Drafting will begin today and is due on Thursday morning.

Wednesday, Nov 5 is student orientation for questions about college applications, choosing majors, financial aid, transfers, and general information about college for international students. Homework is to draft the Argumentative Essay we began an outline for in class today.

Thursday, Nov 6 is grammar, reading review and peer editing. Today, we will watch Mohammed and compare details with our reading in No god, but God. Also, I hope a listening on the Tao.

Friday, Nov 7 is more grammar reading review, with lab in the afternoon to begin the Argumentative Essay.

Monday, Nov 12 is movie day and reading and grammar review. The afternoon is to finish our Argumentative essay.

Tuesday, Nov 13 Reading and TOEFL.

Wednesday, Nov 14 is the trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for our Descriptive essay.
